Adult Formation
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of adult formation opportunities, including Episcopal 101 to introduce the Church to newcomers and to give others a chance to look deeper into our tradition. It is also used as a preparation for adult confirmation.
We explore how our faith informs our response to what is going on in the world around us. We spent a summer discussing Ibram X. Kendi’s How to Be an Antiracist and watched the Hulu documentary The 1619 Project, connecting it to the promises we make in baptism. We believe that our faith is lived out in the world, and we prepare for that with in-depth study and discussion.
Intensive studies of the bible, either thematically or individual books, allow us the time to engage deeply in God’s Word. From time to time, we explore Christian disciplines of prayer, generosity, and service as they are found in our sacred texts and in the theological and spiritual writings that have been handed down to us through the centuries.
There is truly something for everyone at All Saints.
The year 2025 marks the 1700th birthday of the Nicene Creed, recited in Christian churches every week throughout the world. But why do we do that and what is it? Who decided that the Creed would be our affirmation of faith? In celebration of this historic event, we commissioned a video explainer from a scholar priest, the Rev. Benjamin Wyatt, and we first viewed it with our neighbors at St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church on May 18. In case you missed it, you can view it here.
